The Division of Inclusive Excellence invites you to Diversity Day Takeover, featuring a Diversity Resource Fair, diverse tastes across campus as part of Dining Services’ Unity Week, the State of Diversity address by VP Felton, and keynote presentation by Dr. Tia McNair.
The beginning of a new academic year is the ideal time to reaffirm and promote our collective commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. To this end, Inclusive Excellence is hosting a Diversity Day Takeover in Brower Student Center on September 23, 2022. A Diversity Resource Fair featuring student orgs and departments from across campus will be followed by the State of Diversity address by VP James A. Felton III. TCNJ Dining Services will also be celebrating the final day of Unity Week with unique cultural food and fare across campus.
Finally, we will be joined by Dr. Tia McNair, who will deliver a keynote titled “From Equity Talk to Equity Walk: A Vision for Equity, Inclusive Excellence, and Quality.” Her talk asks: How do we accelerate broad-scale innovation and institutional change to advance evidence-based educational strategies that prioritize the creation of equity-centered environments where students can thrive? How can educators ensure that students are fully prepared for life, work, and global citizenship? What changes need to be made in an institution’s policies, practices, partnerships, and culture to achieve excellence for ALL students? This presentation will discuss the practical strategies outlined in From Equity Talk to Equity Walk for examining and establishing equity goals to promote student engagement and success, and to strengthen data-informed continuous improvement efforts.
