In April of 2019, Dr. Damon Williams was contracted to assess and make recommendations relative to building an enhanced campus-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) infrastructure. Dr. Williams is an accomplished expert in the field of DEI, having authored The Chief Diversity Officer, served in numerous college administrative capacities, and founded the Center for Strategic Diversity Leadership & Social Innovation.
On April 2, Dr. Williams engaged in open conversations with key stakeholders — including, among others, the President and Cabinet, Faculty and Staff Senates, and Student Government — to understand top diversity and inclusion priorities, the state of current DEI infrastructure, and recommendations to help guide the design and strategic focus of the Division of Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
On April 26, Dr. Williams returned to TCNJ to present his findings to the campus community. As part of our office’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability, and to accommodate those who could not attend, we have made his presentation available for viewing below. We have also made available Dr. Williams’ report in full. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or comments on its contents — we are always happy to enhance your understanding of these essential issues.
