This conversation, held on February 24, 2021 and hosted by Assistant Professor Michael Mitchell of Criminology, stemmed from a recently published article written by the invited panelists that focuses on the challenges and resilience of formerly incarcerated Black women. By foregrounding the narratives of their participants, the authors engage the lived realities of Black women navigating the violence and harm of the carceral state. Co-sponsored by TCNJ’s Departments of African American Studies and Criminology, as well as Students for Prison Education and Reform.
